Northern Ireland Experience Trip
This Spring, The Foundry will take a team of adults and high school students to Northern Ireland to serve and support a local ministry that is helping young people know and experience Jesus.
On this trip, our team will spend time getting to know local students, serving at a nightly drop in, and learning about Northern Ireland’s culture, history, food, and how God is working there.

FAQs
Why Northern Ireland?
Northern Ireland is known for both its beauty and its destruction. The country’s beautiful green hills and picturesque shores were the settings for a long period of civil war known as “The Troubles.” The dividing line for The Troubles was politics and religion: Unionists vs Nationalists, Catholics vs Protestants. Though The Troubles are over, scars and divisions remain, and the Church’s message of hope has been polluted, causing many, especially young people, to avoid religion altogether.
On this trip, we will partner with RIOT: Dundrum, an organization that exists to help young people know that they matter to God and their community and that they can make a difference where they live.
Who can go on this trip?
This trip is open to both adults and high school students. Younger students may be considered if a parent is participating. Students under 18 must have a notarized parental permission form for international travel. Adults must pass a background check. Participants do not have to attend The Foundry. However, Foundry attendees will be prioritized in team selection.
What is involved in going on this trip?
To go on this trip, participants must have a valid passport with at least 6 months left before expiration. They must follow the team leader and local host’s rules and policies. And they must attend all team meetings - we will have 4 team meetings before the trip to get to know each other and make necessary preparations.
What does it cost?
The total cost for the trip is approximately $2,500 per person. This covers airfare, ground transportation, lodging, food, project costs, and sightseeing. This does not include passport fees, money for souvenirs, and other personal purchases. You’re welcome to pay for the trip outright, but we will also discuss potential fundraising opportunities.
How do I apply?
If you are interested in applying to be part of this trip, you must submit an application and a $100 deposit to The Foundry by November 3, 2024.
The team size for this trip is limited to 15. Applications will be considered based on the time of submission, and students will be prioritized. If you are accepted to the team, you will be notified by November 10th.
